DC Celebrates New Training Facility With Ride Day And Charity Poker Tournament

  • DC Celebrates New Training Facility With Ride Day And Charity Poker Tournament
On Wednesday, December 9th DC launched its motocross training facility, the DC MotoTF, with an exclusive ride day at the Pala Raceway. Moto team riders Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael, Nate Adams, Robbie Maddison, Jolene Van Vugt, Josh Hill, Davi Millsaps, Adam Cianciarulo, Zach Bell, Chase Bell, Ian Trettel, Tommy Searle and the DNA Stix/ Star Racing/ Yamaha Team Nico Izzi, Broc Tickle, Martin Davalos, and Max Anstie came out to celebrate and ride the track. Over 100 retailers, media and industry VIP’s checked out the new training facility and watched with the team in action. Guests also had a chance to ride brand new Yamaha bikes, including the 2010 YZ450F, as part of the DC and Yamaha marketing partnership.
 
The day concluded with a charity invitational poker tournament hosted by DC at the Pala Casino Spa Resort to benefit the Road 2 Recovery Foundation. This non-profit organization, founded by action sports agent and former motocross rider, Jimmy Button, is dedicated to helping injured motocross and supercross athletes. Fifty people including Jimmy and DC motocross athletes Jeremy McGrath, Robbie Maddison, Jolene Van Vugt, Davi Millsaps, and Tommy Searle played in the tournament.  Professional poker players Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho from this season’s “Amazing Race” also joined in, along with the show’s recent winners, Cheyne Whitney and Meghan Rickey.  
 
When all the cards were on the table it was Allen Cianciarulo who won. Rounding out the top three were Charles Ellis and Markus Paulsen. DC donated $ 2,500 to Road 2 Recovery on behalf on Allen and in total almost $ 4,700 was raised.

About Road 2 Recovery:

To provide financial assistance to AMA licensed professional motocross/supercross riders in the event they sustain career ending injuries. Alongside the racers the Foundation is dedicated to providing emotional and spiritual support to the families. Continue acting as a pathway for the motocross public and its supporters to donate funds to be issued to injured racers.
