November 17, 2009 1:59pm
From the thick mud of Italy to the thrilling finale in Brazil, the 2009 FIM Motocross World Championship delivered one of the most spectacular seasons of bar-to-bar racing ever.
Now all the vital highlights from every Grand Prix can be enjoyed again on the Official DVD Review. Duke brings fans more than five hours of MX action on two discs, charting both the MX1 and MX2 title battles to the bitter end.
The best action-packed footage -including breathtaking sequences captured by helmet-mounted cameras -charts every moto from all 15 GPs, plus, there’s expert circuit guides from Paul Malin and interviews with all the stars.
This was a sensational year of mud-spitting, high-jumping competition, with numerous first-time winners, including Ken Roczen, Jeremy van
Horebeek and Zach Osborne, the youngest-ever Grand Prix victor and an incredible five rounds
before 2009 saw its first double GP winner in either class!
Reigning MX1 champion David Philippaerts endured a miserable season, but kept in touch with the title charge thanks to some flashes of brilliance – not least his outstanding victory in Great Britain. Antonio Cairoli’s domination in Turkey put him in pole position for the MX1 crown, but he would be chased all the way by countryman Philippaerts and Max Nagl, whose unbelievable late season charge ensured a gripping climax to the showdown.
As the title battle rages, the Official DVD Review also delivers all the moto-winning exploits of MX1 stars like Tanel Leok, Ken de Dycker, Jonathan Barragan and Clement Desalle – plus an emotional victory for Steve Ramon as he continued his recovery from a career-threatening injury.
Marvin Musquin, Gautier Paulin and Rui Goncalves set the early MX2 championship pace, but at the mid-way point of the season, Frenchman Musquin stepped it up a gear to become the first MX2 rider to dominate a weekend in 2009.
Just when it looked like Musquin had the title in his grasp, Goncalves put together two GP-winning weekends and took advantage of his rival’s misfortune to set-up a thrilling championship showdown in Brazil.
Once again, the Official DVD Review also treats MX2 fans to all the class performances from the likes of British star Shaun Simpson, Steven Frossard, Anthony Boissiere and many more of the world’s greatest dirt bike riders.
The Official Review brings you comprehensive coverage of every edge-of-the-seat round, and the full story of both championship battles.
