  • Blackfoot Announces All-Canadian National MX Team for 2010
Tyler MedagliaTeam Yamaha Canada Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing is proud to announce that they will be making their return to the CMRC Canadian Motocross National Series in full force for the 2010 season thanks to the help of our dedicated sponsors!

The team welcomes Kemptville, Ontario’s Tyler Medaglia to the racing effort in the MX2 class aboard the potent new 2010 Yamaha YZ250F alongside returning rider Kyle Beaton, who will be looking for redemption after an injury-riddled 2009 season. Tyler will be wearing National #5 in 2010 and has had some strong moto-wins in the MX1 class in 2008 as he wore National #3 this year.

Also returning to the team are reigning MX1 National Champion Colton Facciotti, and the MX1 number two plate holder Dusty Klatt, both of whom will be racing the MX1 class aboard Yamaha’s revolutionary new YZ450F.

Blackfoot Motosports Vice-President and team owner Jason Mitchell is excited about having a full-line up of Canada’s motocross elite under his tent. Colton Facciotti“Going into our 11th year of national motocross racing in Canada we are very pleased to have assembled a championship contending team with exclusively Canadian riders. This has been a goal for the team ever since the start, however our number one focus has always been doing what it takes to win championships, and in the past that did include hiring a number of top American racers. Racing All-Canadian in today’s economy makes total sense as we ask all motorcycle enthusiasts to support the Canadian dealer network in their purchases and support our Canadian athletes by doing so. During the last 11 years we have watched the Canadian talent really improve with not only their speed but their overall presence in the series. We are very proud of each and every rider on our team this year in that they all have the ability to add to our tally of 14 National Championships. With the addition of Tyler to our family, our MX2 team will be very potent. It is hard to improve on the 1-2 punch that Colton and Dusty delivered to us last year and we are confident aboard the new YZ450F they will be very tough to beat once again.”

Needless to say, Tyler is ecstatic about being chosen to race for Canada’s premier motocross team: “It’s a real honour to be asked to join this team, I’m extremely excited about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to racing for that MX2 championship next year. I’ve already had the chance to ride a 2010 Yamaha and I was really happy with it. I know that between the bike and the Blackfoot team’s experience and expertise, I’m going to have the whole package for next season. I’ve been racing the MX1 class the last couple of seasons and I think that experience is going to help me out in MX2 class. Next year is definitely going to be my best yet; I’m committed to put it all together for myself and more importantly for the team.”

Kyle BeatonFresh off his win at the Montreal Supercross, Kyle Beaton is also excited about the coming race season: “Hopefully Montreal will be a taste of what’s to come next year for me. I had a difficult year in 2009 getting hurt at the first round, but by the end of the season things were starting to come together for me and I’m hoping to carry that momentum into the Canadian Nationals for 2010. I want to thank Blackfoot for bringing me back and giving me another shot. So far I’ve got a perfect record on the 2010 YZ250F and I mean to keep it that way.”

The team also has a lot to be excited about in the MX1 class, as team riders Colton Facciotti and Dusty Klatt will be mounting their number one and two plates on Yamaha’s new 2010 YZ450F; a bike which has received rave reviews from the motorcycle press and from Colt and Dusty themselves. After absolutely dominating the class last season, the Yamaha-mounted pair are going to be a dynamic duo again in 2010.

Klatt is happy to be back and looking forward to reclaiming the title that he once held in 2006. “Well after a fairly solid season last year I know where I stood, and I know what’s it’s going to take to get that title back,” says Dusty. “I’m excited for the upcoming year and I’m looking forward to riding the new YZ450F for Blackfoot again.”

Dusty KlattKlatt certainly has his work cut out for him, as Facciotti has no plans of letting his number one plate slip away: “I can’t wait to get back out there and make a run for my third national championship,” Colton explains. “We’ve already started some development work on the new 450 and I’m really excited about racing it outdoors next season. With that bike under me and the Blackfoot crew behind me, I’m confident I can produce another championship for the team.”

In addition, the team would like to thank Toyota Canada for their title sponsorship over the past 3 seasons in which they were an integral part of the Yamaha Racing program, both in MX and Road Racing. Unfortunately they were unable to continue their support for the upcoming season and we would like to wish them the best in business for the future.

For 2010 we are pleased to announce our partners in racing and sales and would like to thank them for there support they have committed to our team for the coming season;

Yamaha Motor Canada, Red Bull, Blackfoot Motosports and Direct, Fox Racing, Dubach Racing Development, Michelin, GYTR, Yamaha Power Finance, Yamaha Genuine Parts and Accessories, Yamalube, VP Racing Fuels, Haan Wheels, Renthal, PR2 Racing Development, Superior Suspension Settings, Hinson, Oakley, Light Speed, Cycra, Works Connection, Mettec, D.I.D., Throttle Jockey, Twin Air, JE Pistons, and Mechanix Wear.
