Video of Chad Reed on a Kawasaki

Our esteemed colleague Guy B. broke the big story yesterday: Chad Reed is riding a Kawasaki! The deal has been rumored to be coming together for some time, but there was no proof to back up those rumors until yesterday when Reed was spotted on the Kawasaki supercross track throwing down laps with Monster Energy Kawasaki factory rider Ryan Villopoto.

Whether or not Reed's deal with Monster Energy and Kawasaki is finalized remains to be seen, as Suzuki is said to be trying to pull together a counter-offer that would also see Reed on his own team. Reed last raced a Kawasaki in 2001, his last year in Europe, and he captured a 250 Grand Prix win while riding for the late Jan de Groot. He then departed for America and a ride with Yamaha of Troy. Since then Reed has won two AMA Supercross Championships, a 125 East Supercross title, and the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
