I can totally remember that MXA cover. As a matter of fact, someone put it in a real nice case and gave it to me. I still have it to this day, I’m not sure where it is. It’s hard to tell but that’s David Bailey behind me. It was September 1986 and because of the way magazines are, it could’ve been from any of the nationals that summer.
I’ve had a ton of Dirt Bike covers but this was my only one with MXA. It was exciting to get a cover with them because back in the day, they were it. Dirt Bike was more of all dirt bikes, all types of racing and it was a good magazine but Motocross Action was just a motocross magazine.
