  • Oscar Diaz Murdered After SX Race in Latin America

Numerous sources are reporting this morning that Costa Rican motocross racer Oscar Diaz and four friends were shot by a gang early Saturday morning – Diaz fatally – by a gang in Costa Rica, though a report on www.vurbmoto.com says the race and the shooting took place in Guatemala (we are awaiting confirmation).

Diaz, who lived part-time in Florida, where he taught motocross schools in his off-time, was competing in a race and afterwards was run off the road by the assailants along with four others, the fate of whom is not known as this time.

Diaz is the second rider to be murdered in a little more than a year in such a situation. Rene Reves was shot and killed with several others in Juarez, Mexico, last August.
We will have more on this tragic story as develops.
