  • Deegan Wins Over the Hometown Fans In Crandon, WI for Another Podium Finish

Corona, CA - Determined, Focused, and Relentless are three words that describe FMX Icon Brian Deegan. 40,000 fans turned out for the biggest Off-Road short course race of the season and Deegan wasn’t about to head home without another podium under his belt. Thursday evening into the early morning hours, Deegan and the crew worked tirelessly to prepare his truck for battle in Friday’s Pro-Lite Cup Race. At the start of the race Deegan pulled the hole shot and held on for an early lead. Deegan’s lead was cut short when a three-way battle took Deegan to the outside colliding into the start/finish pylon to end the race for Deegan on the first lap.

The crew once again worked through the night to repair the damage before the weekend’s big race. Saturday’s race proved to be yet another disappointment for the “General” when his truck started having problems causing Deegan to pull off the track early. Realizing his was down but not out, Deegan took time to gather his thoughts before heading back out for Sunday’s race.

As with everything, give Deegan a battle and he’s not going down without a fight. On Sunday cameras were rolling and Deegan was on the big stage of ABC. After a disappointing first and second round Deegan wasn’t letting it get the best of him. Rested and re-focused Deegan put on the show for the hometown fans battling his way to the top four from eight place he could taste the victory. Deegan persisted all the way to the end and on the last turn of the final lap, Deegan saw an opportunity on the outside to pass driver Casey Currie and advanced to 3rd place just in time for the checkered flag! This was Deegan’s first podium finish in the TORC Series and an impressive one at that. If you missed last weekends racing action, you can tune in to ESPN 2 September 9th at 10:30pm PST to catch the highlights from Crandon International Off-Road Raceways 40th Anniversary weekend event.

You can see more racing action from Brian Deegan in October when he battles for the championship in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. With only two more races left in the series, Deegan sits in the top 3 in point standings.
