Fun Center Suzuki San Francisco Report
It was great weather for a change at the beautiful AT&T Park in San Francisco. In timed practice Cole Seely came in at 22nd, and Brady Sheren 24th. Michael Lapaglia suffered a mechanical issue and was only able to make one lap in the second secession which placed him 40th.
Seely was in heat one. He got a great start on his Rob Burkhart prepped RMZ 250 coming around the first turn in third. He went on to battle the entire six lap race with 2008 defending East Cost Supercross Champion Trey Canard edging him out at the finish for third. It was a great ride for Seely and he showed veteran form with the pressure Canard applied. Sheren and Lapaglia were in heat two. Lapaglia’s bad luck continued as he was only able to make it a half of a lap before his bike lost power due to a bad ignition system. Sheren on the other hand got a last place start and worked his way up to eighth and a trip to his first main event of the season.
It was just not meant to be for Lapaglia. In the LCQ he got a seventh place start and by a half of a lap had worked his way up to third only to be taken out by Michael Hall.
In the main event it was Seely again with another great start in third. He rode the pace of the front runners staying in the top five for the first eight laps. On lap nine he began to fade and went on to finish 11th, duplicating his best finish of the season. Sheren came off the gate in last and worked his way up to 18th, his career best finish.
“The riders have been working really hard these past two weeks and it showed,” stated team manager Gregg Lynk. “Lapaglia may have not gotten the results, but I know he is better prepared than ever and I expect to see him do well at Anaheim 3”.
Be sure to come out to Anaheim, Angel’s stadium or tune into Speed to see the Fun Center Suzuki Team in action next weekend.
