  • Toyota AMA AX Goes to Dallas

AURORA, Ill. (Jan. 8, 2008) – The Toyota AMA Arenacross Series – the nation’s premier indoor competition dirt bike racing series - returns to Dallas’ Reunion Arena for one big night of professional indoor motocross racing this Saturday (Jan. 12).

This past weekend the Toyota AMA Arenacross split with two races in Grand Rapids, Mich., and a Saturday night only race in Kansas City, Mo. Splitting the wins in Grand Rapids were Brock Sellards (Babbitt’s Online/Kawasaki on Friday and Team Fiberwise Pasta/Yamaha’s Keith Johnson on Saturday. Winning the Kansas City event was Ti Lube/Honda’s Teddy Maier.

“The stars of the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series will be out in full force in Dallas this weekend,” said Jayme Dalsing, director of the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series. “Texas is a hotbed for motocross racers and many work up through the ranks to race pro in the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series. We’re looking forward to returning to Dallas’ Reunion Arena after a year’s hiatus. The action’s always great in that facility and we’re expecting a big crowd with the one night of racing action Jan. 12th.”

The last time the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series gate dropped in Reunion Arena it was all Brock Sellards. The Ohioan torched the field, sweeping both the Friday and Saturday night Arenacross class main events. Equally as impressive as Sellards in the AMA Arenacross Lites class was Shawn Clark, who went 1-1.

With another Toyota AMA Arenacross Series event playing out in Baltimore the same weekend, it’ll be interesting to see which racers will show up where. If defending champ Sellards decides on Baltimore, there’s sure to be a local pro racer ready to step up and take his place! One thing for sure is the action will be incredibly intense as Toyota AMA Arenacross Series champion bragging rights for the State of Texas are on the line in Dallas on Jan 12th!

MEDIA ALERT! What: Toyota AMA Arenacross Press Day When: Friday, Jan. 11th Where: Reunion Arena Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Who: National and local Texas pro dirt bike racers in a “Live” riding display!
