  • Toyota Trucks Returns as Official Truck of Monster Energy® SX

AURORA, Ill. (January 4, 2008) – Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc., announced today that Toyota Trucks returns to the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, as the official truck, bringing with it an all-new experience in the pit area with “Elrod’s Fasthouse.” In addition, Toyota will award the AMA Supercross class champion’s mechanic and the winner of the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout with new Toyota Tundras.

Toyota, the official truck of supercross, has offered fans and riders a number of experiences and opportunities throughout the years. For 2008, the Rider Lounge returns to offer riders needed amenities at each race.  New for 2008 is Elrod’s Fasthouse presented by Toyota Trucks, which will be set-up in the pit area at each race. The Fasthouse offers a look back at the sport of supercross, including Toyota’s involvement since the 1970s. In true Toyota fashion, a number of interactive activities such as the Tacoma Fast Foot Challenge and Toyota Trucks Mini-Bike Race will also take place to offer participants cool prizes. Visit Toyota’s space in the pits to experience the fun for yourself as well as snag autographs from Josh Hansen and Josh Summey from the all new JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha team.

“This year we wanted to take a look back at the roots of supercross and Toyota’s involvement in the sport,” said Brian Smith, Toyota’s Corporate Marketing Manager of Trucks and SUVs. “We’ve gathered a lot of great memorabilia and are excited to give the fans the opportunity to see the collection in Toyota’s footprint inside the pits.”

Last year, Toyota awarded Jeremy Albrecht, who was AMA Supercross class champion James Stewart’s mechanic, and Ryan Dungey, who won the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium, brand new Toyota Tundra trucks.
