August 28, 2007 5:54am
Wortham, Texas (August 28, 2007) - On June 5, 1988, history was frozen when the last AMA Motocross National was held in Texas. This coming Labor Day weekend, a new chapter is about to commence. The Monster Energy Freestone Motocross National presented by Yamaha and Berkey's comes to Freestone County Raceway, September 1-2, 2007.
So everyone can hear the Lone Star state and its fans, a limited edition COW BELL will be on sale during this historic event. "We want the riders to know that the fans are excited about the nationals coming to Texas" said Tony Miller (Promoter of Freestone). Miller followed by saying, "the riders, television and internet audience should be able to feel the energy that comes with such great fans as they embrace the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship at Freestone."
With the stage set for one of the tightest points battles in the history of the sport, Freestone adds a new element to the series since no rider has seen, nor rode the track in any official capacity. Saturday's practice will quite possible be the most important practice of the 2007 season.
The one-of-a-kind COW BELL will be available once this new facility is introduced to the public. An official ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce is set for 7am on Saturday.
Tickets are on sale now at www.FreestoneMX.com, call 877-77-CLICK or visit your greater Texas participating Yamaha dealer.
