Bad Girl Jessica Patterson Seeks Fifth National Championship

Bad Boy Power Drink / Honda of Houston / Fox Racing rider Jessica Patterson, four time AMA / WMA Pro National Champion, will be competing for her fifth national championship this Sunday, August 26th at the Steel City Raceway in Demont, PA. Heading in to the sixth and final round of the AMA / WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship, Jessica leads the championship with 16 points over Etnies / Answer / Yamaha’s Tarah Gieger. Jessica pulled ahead in the point standings after going 1-1 at round five held at Washougal MX in Washougal, WA on July 28th.

The first three rounds of the 07 season, Jessica Patterson just crushed the competition. She won all six motos, giving her a huge advantage in the championship points standings. But, in round four, in Lakewood, Colorado on July 21st, at the Thunder Valley MX facility, the points scenario changed drastically.  During moto one, after contact with Sarah Whitmore, the two riders went down and the tip of Jessica's middle finger on her throttle hand got caught in Sarah's rear sprocket. Jessica withdrew from moto one to seek first aid in the Asterick Mobile Medical Unit and suffered her first DNF of the season. Tarah Gieger went on to win moto two, but even with her injury, Patterson finished second. Gieger and Patterson left Thunder Valley tied in overall points.

Now after winning both motos in round five, four time Pro National Champion, Bad Boy Power Drink / Honda of Houston / Fox Racing rider Jessica Patterson, takes a 16 point lead in to the sixth and final round of the AMA / WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship. On Sunday, she could ride away with championship number five.
