Corona, Ca. -- The 3Rd Annual Ricky James / Next Steps Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, September 20th, 2007. The event is being held to raise money to benefit the Reeve-Irvine Research Center at UC Irvine and to raise awareness of finding a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries.

The spinal cord injury of Ricky James, a young upcoming amateur motocross racer that left the 19 yr. old paralyzed on March 10th 2005 when he was just 16 years old, motivated the James family to create this fundraising event. Last year was the second year of the event and over $90,000.00 was raised.

“We have a special relationship with the Reeve-Irvine Research Center”, explains Rick James, father of Ricky. “They are in a unique position to identify some of the most important and relevant areas of spinal cord research. They are staffed with some of the finest spinal cord injury researchers in the world”.

The tournament will be held at the Trilogy Golf Club at Glen Ivy in Corona, Ca. and is open to anyone who wants to participate or contribute to the Foundation. The tournament has many different sponsorship levels and is expected to raise over $120,000.00 this year.

Sponsorship levels for the tournament range from $300.00 to Titanium Corporate sponsorship level of $5,000.00. “We wanted to have a way for almost anyone to participate.” says James. Interested individuals may also contribute any amount towards the event without participating.

Format is a shotgun scramble starting at 11a.m.; Event entry includes a box lunch and a Dinner/Awards Reception at the Nines Grill following a great day of golf.

The Next Steps Foundation is a 501c3 non profit organization.

For additional information or to join interest list please send an e-mail expressing your interest and number of golfers to rjames@younghomes.com or nblackstock@younghomes.com or visit the event’s website at www.rickyjamesgolf.com
