Monster Energy-Backed Ivan Tedesco Scores A 5th @ Spring Creek
Tedesco mounts HUGE comeback in first moto to finish 11th, then runs at podium speed with 4th in second moto for top five overall
CORONA, Calif., (Aug. 13, 2007) – Monster Energy’s Ivan Tedesco (Makita/Suzuki) put together another solid performance on the 2007 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship tour, racing his RM-Z450 to a 5th place overall finish at Spring Creek MX Park, round nine of the series.
Much like Washougal, where Tedesco finished 7th, he had to mount a feverous charge from 32nd place after the first lap in the first moto to finish 11th to open Millville. With his back against the wall Tedesco stepped up in the second moto and reeled off a smokin’ race, enjoying a great battle early in the race with Grant Langston and coming up just short of the podium (three seconds) – but 20 seconds ahead of factory Honda’s Andrew Short.
“Coming back like that in the first moto motivated me for the second moto,” said Tedesco. “Our goal now it to put two motos together and get this Makita/Suzuki up on the podium.”
Next up for Monster Energy’s Ivan Tedesco and the Makita/Suzuki team is Round Ten of the 2007 AMA Toyota Motocross Championships at Steel City (Delmont, Pa.), Aug. 26th.
