Stewart to Sit Out Millville
MILLVILLE, Minn. (August 11, 2007) – Monster Energy Kawasaki today announced that James Stewart will not race the ninth round of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship this weekend due to a knee injury sustained at the last race in Washougal, Wash.
Stewart, who sustained the injury in the closing moments of the second moto at Washougal, visited with specialists the past two weeks while resting his knee.
“Kawasaki’s goal, and James’ goal, was to be out here racing this weekend to be able to salvage enough points to keep his championship hopes alive,” said Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Manager Mike Fisher. “Unfortunately, after riding on Friday, James does not feel he has enough stability in his left knee to make it though two 30-minute motos.”
He added, “Since 100 percent of our efforts were to try to make it to this round our plan for the future has yet to be decided.”
