  • Travis Pastrana Takes Home the Bronze in Rally X

Los Angeles, California – August 8, 2007 – Travis Pastrana followed up his 2006 Gold Medal winning X Games Rally X debut with a Bronze Medal at X Games 13.

The winningest X Games Motox athlete of all time is now tied as the winningest X Games Rally X athlete of all time.  The Freestyle Motox legend won the Gold Medal in the inaugural X Games Rally X in 2006 and while not as lucky this year, was still able to put on quite a show. After coming into the final turn a bit too hot, Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom overshot the barricade and ended up in the other lane. Despite still finishing first, Pastrana and Edstrom were disqualified for crossing into the competitor’s lane. This killed Pastrana’s chances of repeating his Gold Medal run from last year and relinquished him to the Bronze Medal race. The competition proved inadequate from the 2006 Rally America Champion and Pastrana easily won the Bronze Medal. The ever positive Pastrana had this to say after:  “I thought we might be a little behind coming into the final corner – I just totally overtook that corner a little bit, and completely ran right through the barrier,” Pastrana said. “They made a call, and we’ve been on the other side of calls a lot…we’ll take it – we’re still at the podium.” Travis looks to defend his 2006 rally championship in two weeks when the Rally America series makes its annual migration to Ojibwe for the Ojibwe Forest Rally.

Travis would like to thank all his sponsors for their continued support: Red Bull Energy Drink, Thor, Parts Unlimited, Alpinestars, DC Shoes, Michelin, Suzuki, Cernics, Ogio, Smith Optics, Subaru, Nixon, EVS and Kicker Inc.
