Carmichael and Stewart Autograph Signing Tuesday at Loretta Lynn’s
Pro Superstars Return to the Race that Started Runs through the Record Books
Morgantown, WV – The two biggest pro motocross stars in the world today will return to the race that made them famous—the Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn’s presented by Amsoil—as Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael and Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s James Stewart meet and greet fans at the Air Nautiques boat house on Tuesday, July 31st. Carmichael will begin signing autographs at 1:30 pm, Stewart at 3 p.m.
Stewart and Carmichael are both Air Nautique sponsored athletes. Carmichael, known to motocross fans simply as the Greatest Of All-Time (GOAT), is a 15-time AMA National Motocross Champion, which nearly doubles the professional motocross championship total of any racer in the history of the sport. Carmichael also collected nine AMA Amateur National Titles at Loretta’s between 1990 and 1996, which made him the winningest rider ever at the event at that time.
Stewart eclipsed Carmichael’s amateur record as he graduated to a pro career in 2001, and still sits in a tie on top of the all-time AMA Amateur National record book with 11 career titles. As a pro, he is the reigning AMA Supercross Champion and current points leader in the AMA/Toyota Motocross Championship, as well as a two-time AMA 125cc National Motocross Champion.
Stewart and Carmichael will also appear as part of opening ceremonies at the Ranch on Monday night, July 30th, and Stewart will ride the Loretta Lynn’s National track on Wednesday as part of the 2008 Kawasaki Ride.
The 26th Annual Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships Presented by Amsoil kicks off this weekend at the home of country music legend Loretta Lynn in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Racing action starts promptly at 7:30 am every day, Tuesday, July 31st, through Saturday, August 4th.
