First Annual Ron Boyas Memorial Race
Scottsdale, AZ - The First Annual Ron Boyas Memorial Race will take place on Saturday, August 18th, at Beans Bike Park, 100 miles from Steel City Raceway. Privateer Ron Boyas, of Walton Hills, OH, passed away on Saturday February 10, 2007 from injuries he sustained after a practice crash in North Carolina while preparing for the up coming rounds of the East Coast Supercross Series. Ron was the definition of a "True Privateer" supporting most his racing effort out of his own pocket.
The track is located in Dennison, OH about 100 miles from Steel City and will be offering FREE weekly camping for every rider wishing to come out the week before Steel City. Pro riders that have earned a TWO DIGIT national number will be granted FREE practice.
This event will include a Road 2 Recovery benefit dinner and Pit Bike Race during the day. The night program will offer a pro purse, and will see Kames Sports sponsoring the Amateur night the same evening. Dinner tickets can be purchased on the day of the event for $5 each. There will also be a certificate for a Leatt Neck Brace raffled off. The tickets will be $10 each or 3 for $25. These tickets can be purchased at the event or will be available from the Road 2 Recovery Foundation's website. Gates open at 10:00 AM. Race entry $20, spectators $10.
