  • Bridgestone Introduces M403/M404

Nashville, Tenn. (7/05/2007) -- Bridgestone Firestone North American Tires is strengthening its already dominant position in the motocross/off-road market with the introduction of the newly developed intermediate Bridgestone-brand M403 Front and M404 Rear combination tires. These tires will replace the current successful M401 and M402 tires in the marketplace.

Prototype versions of these new tires were developed and tested by top AMA Supercross, Motocross and off-road racers and Factory Teams capturing a dominant majority of race wins and championships. With this data, and building on the proven performance of the M401/M402 combination, Bridgestone tire engineers have fine-tuned casing constructions and tread design patterns to increase durability, widen the range of soil applications and increase cornering performance on the new M403/M404.

Using new lug patterns, rubber compounds and tire constructions, the M403 front tire provides the rider with improved cornering control and feedback, even at full-lean angles. The M404 rear tire offers added traction and slide control allowing better acceleration out of corners.  Supplying increased bump absorption and performing well in a very wide range of soils, these new M403/M404 design characteristics will help riders improve lap times.

This new tire development technology allows Bridgestone to offer excellent performance to racers and recreational riders of all major off-road bikes on the market today. Available to fit motorcycles from 50cc up to 450cc, the M403 front will be available in 6 different sizes and the M404 rear will be available in 10 sizes.  Fronts are 80/100-21, 90/100-21, 60/100-12, 60/100-14, 70/100-17 and 70/100-19.  Rears are 100/90-19, 110/90-19, 110/80-19, 120/80-19, 100/100-18, 110/100-18, 70/100-10, 80/100-12, 90/100-14 and 90/100-16.

Look for the new Bridgestone M403/M404 off-road tire combination later this summer at motorcycle dealers nationwide.
