Honda 2008 Model Release

Torrance, Calif.—American Honda Motor Company’s Motorcycle Division announced today its first 2008 motorcycle and ATV products.

“Today we’re introducing the first of the 2008 Honda models, led by our flagship the Gold Wing, in dramatic new colors” said Motorcycle Press Manager Jon Row. “In addition, we’ve made EPS, our unique Electric Power Steering system, more accessible with its application on the Foreman FM. All 2008 Honda ATVs also now feature a one year warranty. Several of our most popular models, including the Shadow Aero and CRF150R motocrosser, will be in dealer showrooms early this summer and many of our industry leading off-road motorcycles and ATVs are available as well.”

Street

Gold Wing
Year after year the Gold Wing sets the standard by which all other luxury tourers are judged. Powered by an incredibly smooth and powerful, fuel-injected 1832cc six-cylinder engine and an 80-watt-per-channel premium audio system, selected models feature a cold-weather comfort package, satellite navigation, and the first fully integrated rider airbag. Four new colors are offered in 2008: Metallic Red, Pearl White, Titanium and Black join Dark Red Metallic.

Shadow Aero
This 745cc retro-styled V-twin has big-bike looks and feel, impeccable road manners, a low 25.9-inch seat height, shaft drive and an attractive price. New for 2008 are a classic two-into-two exhaust system with bullet-style mufflers, custom-styled Shadow tank logo and five colors: Candy Dark Red, Metallic Silver/Black, Black/White, Candy Dark Red/White and classic Black.  MSRP from $6,799 - $7,099.

Shadow Spirit 750 C2
Following a complete redesign in 2007, the sportiest 750-class cruiser on the market returns with a street-rod style 21-inch front wheel, low 25.7-inch one-piece gunfighter seat and three new colors: Metallic Silver, Candy Dark Red/Flame, and Ultra Blue Metallic/Flame join Black.  MSRP from $6,799 - $7,099.

Rebel
This ultra-reliable entry-level cruiser is the perfect platform on which to discover the world of motorcycling. Available in new Silver Metallic and classic Black, MSRP:  $3,199.

Dual Sport

XR650L
Whether your adventures take you on or off the pavement, the durable and powerful, electric-start XR650L has earned a no-nonsense reputation as one of the most capable dual-sport motorcycles money can buy. Available in Red, MSRP: $5,949.

CRF150R/CRF150R-Expert
With its high-revving, jewel-like four-stroke 149cc liquid-cooled four-valve Unicam® engine and high-tech suspension, the CRF150R and CRF150R-Expert redefine the small-displacement motocross category. Available in Red, MSRP: $4,199 (CRF150R), MSRP:  $4,299 (CRF150RB)

Off-Road

CRF230F, CRF150F
With the dependable power of a 223cc four-stroke engine, convenient electric starting and long-travel suspension, the CRF230F is the supreme bike for riders eager to explore the world of off-road riding. Like its bigger sibling, the CRF150F redefines off-road fun and features electric starting, modest 32.5-inch seat height, rugged 149cc four-stroke engine and great-handling chassis. For 2008, both models have redesigned seats and fuel tanks to provide a slimmer, lighter handing feel and improved riding comfort. Available in Red, MSRP: $3,649 (CRF230F), MSRP: $3,149 (CRF150F)

CRF100F
Amazingly versatile, anvil-tough and used by everyone from beginners to world champions to hone their riding skills, the CRF100F remains the best selling off-road bike of all time. Available in Red, MSRP: $2,399.

CRF80F
The CRF80F is ideal for young riders who are ready to step up to a traditional manual-shift machine with big-bike features. Available in Red, MSRP: $2,099.

CRF70F
With Honda Racing-inspired styling, low seat height and three-speed transmission with automatic clutch, the CRF70F is the perfect fit for growing riders. Available in Red, MSRP: $1,699.

CRF50F
It’s easy to understand why the CRF50F is Honda’s best-selling off-road machine. With a bulletproof 49cc four-stroke engine, inverted front fork and single-shock rear suspension, there’s no better way to introduce a youngster to off-road motorcycling. Available in Red, MSRP: $1,349

FourTrax Rincon/FourTrax Rincon GPScape

FourTrax Foreman 4x4 ES/FourTrax Foreman
A powerful, longitudinally mounted 475cc engine, easy-to-use TraxLok 2WD/4WD system and torque-sensitive front differential make the Foreman 4x4 a popular choice with either manual shifting or Honda’s Electric Shift Program (ESP). For 2008, both models are available with Electric Power Steering. Colors include new White, plus Red, Olive, and NaturalGear Camouflage.  MSRP from $6,449 - $7,399.

TRX450R/TRX450ER
Available in manual- and electric-start versions, the mighty TRX450R has won races in virtually every ATV racing arena as well as three victories through the grueling wilds of the Baja 1000. New Black/Blue Flame color joins White and Red.  MSRP: $6,849 (TRX450R), MSRP: $6,999 (TRX450ER), MSRP: $7,149 (TRX450ERF)

TRX300EX
The TRX300EX combines a great balance of power, weight and agility, plus outstanding value, race-inspired styling and easy to use reverse. Now available in White, plus Red and Black.  MSRP:  $4,999.
