  • Monster Energy-Backed Jason Lawrence (YoT) 2nd @ Seattle
Lawrence finishes nearly 30 points ahead of factory Yamaha’s Josh Hill for 2nd place overall in the AMA Western Lites class standings

CORONA, Calif., (April 30, 2007) –  Monster Energy-backed Jason Lawrence (Yamaha of Troy), having already wrapped up 2nd place overall in the AMA Supercross Lites class Western Region series standings in February at San Diego, nonetheless took it to the competition yet again with an admirable 2nd place overall finish at Seattle’s Qwest Field on Saturday.

Having already scored five podium finishes in seven races, including three in a row heading into Seattle, Lawrence used the pacific northwest race as a tune up for the upcoming Dave Coombs Sr. Las Vegas Lites Shootout (May 5th).

“Last year my first Supercross podium ever was at Seattle,” said Lawrence. “So I was fired up to come back up here and put my Yamaha up on the podium again – which I did. Now the plan is to make it back up on the podium one more time before we start Nationals - and hopefully with that top spot this weekend in Vegas.”

Lawrence opened up the weekend’s racing with a solid 2nd place finish in the second heat race to make the main. In the main he got an OK start (5th after the first lap), and was determined to get past a number of factory-backed racers, including Yamaha’s Josh Hill, Kawasaki-backed Chris Gosselaar and Honda-backed Josh Grant. The final pass for 2nd place would come versus Hill on lap ten of the 15-lap contest.

Next up for Monster Energy’s Jason Lawrence is the Dave Coombs Sr. Las Vegas Lites Shootout, May 5th at Sam Boyd Stadium.
