  • Teddy Maier Comes Through For Wonder Warthog Racing

April 26, 2007

Newbury Park, CA.  In his first race out of Wonder Warthog Racing’s (WWR) DeCal Works Hog Haven, Teddy Maier put in an excellent ride, finishing 14th in the Lites main at round 14 of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series, held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

The WWR team, hosted by MDK and Lucas Oil, also welcomed brothers Keith and Kevin Johnson, whose sponsorship is being taken care of by Lucas Oil. Keith produced an excellent result with a 13th in the Supercross main while Kevin was in the hunt all night, finishing third in his Last Chance Qualifier while winning the Racer X Gas Card.

“WWR is very pleased to have Teddy Maier on the Hog Haven team. After being off for so long, he came out really strong and rode with a lot of heart. His lap times were solid all day long and his results showed it”, said Scott Kandel, WWR Chief Altruistic Officer. Maier’s strong ride into the main from his heat race earned him the weekly “Barrnett Clutch Performance” Award.

Seven riders qualified for the night program, including 4 from the DeCal Works/P-LoK Hog Haven. Zach Ames, Ted Campbell, Dave Ginolfi, and Maier all qualified from the Haven as well as MDK/Lucas Oil/Yamaha rider Jacob Saylor and the Johnson brothers.

The team has now had eleven different riders compete in 26 main events.

The next stop on the 2007 Hog Haven Tour will be Saturday, April 28th at Quest Field in Seattle. Hog Haven apparel can be purchased at the LiveNation merchandise trailer in the pits or at www.SmoothIndustries.com. All WWR proceeds go towards funding their privateer support programs. Drop in to visit the entire team at www.WonderWarthogRacing.com
