  • Deluge Sport Drink’s Ryan Morais Continues To Lead SX Lites

Deluge Sport-backed Hahn (Honda) and Jesseman (Motoworld/Yamaha) finish 5th, 7th – respectively – in Texas Stadium Lites main event

CARLSBAD, Calif., (March 26, 2007) – Deluge Sport Drink-backed supercross Lites class racer Ryan Morais (Yamaha) kept his overall hold on 1st place in the Eastern Supercross Lites division, finishing 4th at Texas Stadium in Irving on Saturday.

With rival Ben Townley winning the event, Deluge’s Morais now has a three-point lead (114-111) over Townley with one race remaining on the ESX schedule.

“We knew from the beginning of the season the overall points chase was going to be close, most likely coming right down to the wire in Detroit,” said Morais. “We’ve got a couple weeks off here for everybody to get healed up and it’s going to be an exciting weekend of racing in Detroit to decide the Eastern Lites championship.”

Morais, who transferred to the main with a solid 4th place finish in the second heat race, was joined in the top ten in the standings by fellow Deluge Sport Drink racers Thomas Hahn (Honda) and Branden Jesseman (Motoworld/Yamaha), finishing 5th and 7th, respectively. Hahn and Jesseman went 5-6 in the first heat race.

The Moto XXX team didn’t fair quite as well this week. Kyle Lewis survived a spectacular crash in his heat race, only to end up missing the main by one spot with a 3rd in the Last Chance Qualifier. And while Josh Summey did make the main with a solid 6th place finish in the second heat race, he wrecked on lap eight in the main event and was unable to finish.

Next up for the Deluge Sport-backed athletes is the Detroit Supercross at Ford Field on April 21st.
