  • Darcy Lange Clinches BooKoo AX Title

One Down….One To Go

Fort Worth, TX  (February 5, 2007) –  Darcy Lange and the Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Team wrapped up the K&N Presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series brought to you by Honda this past weekend at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota with three wins and one second place finish over the weekend. For winning the BooKoo Arenacross Series Championship Lange has won $25,000.00 from the $100,000.00 point fund along with a new 2007 Honda Ridgeline truck.

"I'm really happy, I'm happy for the team and all our sponsors,” Lange commented. “We worked hard as team. It has not been easy to win the title, it’s been tough at times but as a team we just stayed focused.”

The team as successfully accomplished their first goal, now the Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki team must prepare for what could be their biggest challenge all year.

The final round coming up this weekend at the Mohegan Sun is also the U.S. Open of Arenacross which will carry a $100,000.00 purse, with $50,000.00 going to the winner, making this event the largest arenacross purse in the world. Lange is the odds on favorite going into the final with 23 main event wins out of a possible 36.

“We are exactly where we wanted to be going into the U.S. Open of Arenacross,” said Denny Bartz, Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Team manager. “We wanted the championship in our pocket so Darcy can concentrate on winning races and not protecting a point lead. We predict this will be our toughest challenge all year.”

“The addition of the US Open of Arenacross to our final round of the BooKoo Arenacross Series creates a whole new element,” said Mike Kidd, president of MKEG. “With the best arenacross racers competing at one of the largest and most elaborate entertainment destinations in the world, for a record arenacross purse, this will certainly create a spectacular event for our fans, sponsors and racers.”

A world at play and a world to its own, Mohegan Sun, created in 1996 by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut, is one of the world's most amazing destinations with some of New England's finest dining, hotel accommodations, retail shopping, live entertainment and sporting events. It is also host to the fabulous Kids Quest/Cyber Quest family entertainment facility, a luxurious day spa, convention center and meeting facility, as well as three major entertainment venues with seating from 300 to 10,000. People from across the globe come to see live concerts with some of today's top headliners, along with major sporting events including Mohegan Sun's very own WNBA's Connecticut Sun.

Every turn leads to a new adventure with an indoor 7-story waterfall, the world’s largest and most spectacular planetarium dome and the awe-inspiring Wombi Rock, a glowing crystal mountain made of imported stone that serves as the focal point of the Casino of the Sky.
