Pourcel Update
Europe-based MXLarge.com posted an update on the injury on Christophe Pourcel today, from team press agent Pascal Haudiquert.
"It's not really good news," reported MX Large. "With the opening International just two weeks away time is running out for the World MX2 champion, he will more than likely miss Mantova, and his preparation for the GP season is in tatters."
Haudiquert said yesterday, "I spoke today with Patrick Gelade (team manager of the GP team). Christophe will be back in France tomorrow for exams and (maybe) surgery. He crashed during practice in the week, on a whoops section and broke a finger at his hand. He could race with an injection (and) he won his qualifyng heat, (but) had a bad start in the main. He wasn't pushing, but he landed far on a jump and felt pain on his leg when he landed. Seems that he has a broken shin. If it is confirmed that means he could have to rest between six and eight weeks. I will send a PR monday evenbing or tuesday when we'll know exactly the situation."
