AMA Members Receive Discounts at 2007 Amp'd Mobile AMA SX Events
PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Dec. 12, 2006) – The start of the 2007 Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series is just a few weeks away, and members of the American Motorcyclist Association have two new reasons to look forward to the 16-race season.
Every one of the over 750,000 fans who attend races in the 2007 series will get to see James Stewart, Chad Reed and an entire field of the most talented motorsports athletes on earth battle at the top level of their sport. But this year, AMA members can enjoy all the excitement of AMA Supercross racing, and save money, too.
AMA members are eligible for a $5 discount each on up to four advance-purchase tickets, plus one free pit pass--a $10 value--at most series rounds. That can add up to $30 in discounts when they and their friends attend a single series round.
The discount is available on tickets that cost more than $15 at every series round except those in Anaheim, Calif.; Daytona Beach, Fla.; and the series finale in Las Vegas. To qualify, AMA members simply have to enter a special code that's available in the Members Only area of the AMA website (just go to www.AMADirectlink.com and click the Members Only link at the top of the page to log in or register). AMA members can also get their $5 ticket discount on tickets purchased in person before the day of the race by showing their AMA cards to the event ticket seller.
Free pit passes are available to AMA members who show their cards at the box office pit pass window between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the day of the race. The pit pass promotion is not available at the Daytona Beach race or at races where the pits are closed to the public. At the Las Vegas series finale, your ticket serves as your pit pass.
This discount partnership, offered by the AMA and Live Nation, promoters of 15 of the races in the 2007 Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series, marks the first benefit of its kind that is available to all AMA members for an entire series.
"We know all the racers on the track, from James Stewart down to the rookie entering his first supercross race, are AMA members," said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations for Live Nation. "And we wanted to find a way to welcome all AMA members to watch them compete."
"This discount program represents a great benefit for AMA members who are race fans," noted Patti DiPietro, CEO of the AMA. "A member who takes his family or friends to just a couple of races can easily save more than the $39 annual cost of a full membership."
