This week's collection comes from Alan Burke of Michigan:
"This is my 1980 YZ 125G. I got it on eBay for a few hundred bucks. It was junk, but after a year of hard work, this is the end result. Work includes all new plastic, all new bearings, seals, crank, piston rings, fresh bore by Eric Gorr of Forward Motion, tires, filter, grips, levers, cables and seat cover. This bike is somewhat modified from the stock version. It was Yamaha's last year of an air-cooled motor and was a big jump from the 1979 YZ125! It was one of my favorite bikes that I raced. I still like its lines and the look says "dirt bike." The cylinder has Keith Bowen's name engraved in it with what I was told is a Team Dynamic porting job. Both Dynamic and Bowen were house hold names in the midwest in the 1980s. This bike rocks, even standing still!"
