Youthstream is adding another flyaway race to an FIM World Motocross Championship schedule that already includes trips to Qatar, Thailand, Argentina, Mexico and the United States in 2016. After qualifying sessions today at the MXGP of Thailand, Youthstream president Giuseppe Luongo and FIM/CMS director Tony Skillington announced that the championship would return to Indonesia.
In a statement, Luongo said the series would return to the Southeast Asian nation for the “next three years.”
“For the next three years there will be a MXGP in Indonesia, this is something we are very happy about, we have had some grand prix there in the past with great organization and many spectators so now Indonesia will come back strongly,” said Luongo.
“Pangkal Pinang city and its people are ready to welcome our guests from all over the world,” the mayor of Pangkal Pinang, Indonesia, Mr. Muhammad Irwansyah S.sos Msi said. “I have a dream that Pangkal Pinang city can be as good as Qatar, and can be more prominent after a MXGP held in Indonesia.”
