Raymond, Alberta, Canada - The Lethbridge Motorcycle Club is proud to host the 19th annual Western Canadian Amateur Nationals at the Temple Hill motocross park, in Raymond, Alberta. Located just an hour north of the Montana Border, the WCAN attracts the top amateurs from all across the western provinces and the northwestern United States.
The race weekend will feature the classic 3 moto format combined with long motos and intense summer heat to truly test a rider’s physical condition and ability. The track itself, a former stop on the Canadian Pro National circuit, is a nearly two mile mix of sand and hard-pack which runs up down and around the iconic “Temple Hill” with lots of natural-terrain features and great flowing lines.
The WCAN features 24 amateur classes, from 50cc (4-6) all the way to Plus 40, as well as Open Pro and Pro/Am. At the end of the weekend, the rider accumulating the most points in all classes will be awarded the prestigious Kermaxx Silver Sprocket. The winner joins the company of motocross icons Colton Facciotti, Kyle Beaton and Dean Wilson to name a few. In addition, this year Matrix Canada has stepped up and will be helping us with an “Amateur National Champion” bike stand for the overall winner in each class.
Camping is available at the track. There’s no hook-ups but fresh water and septic services will come around for RVs. Extracurricular activities never fail to entertain, with a scavenger hunt for the kids, an evening co-ed team moto, an intermission Vintage race on Saturday, and a nightly group campfire next to the race office. The WCAN is truly a hallmark event in Canadian moto, and one that no one should miss!
Signups are still open on our website or at sign-in in the big tent when you get here. For spectators weekend passes will be sold at the gate: $40 for adults, $30 for kids 5-17, and anyone under 4 is free.
