Could the Motocross of Nations return to Teutschenthal in Germany? According to MXGP.com, Giuseppe Luongo, president of Youthstream, Joachim Jahnke, president of MCS Teutschenthal and Dieter Porsch, ADAC’s head of motorcycling division, met this past weekend during the MXGP of Germany to discuss the possibility of the venue hosting the 2018 edition of the Motocross of Nations. The venue most recently held the event in 2013.
The track came under much criticism for it’s prep this past weekend for the MXGP round. Racer X European Correspondent, Adam Wheeler, wrote the following yesterday: “Teutschenthal held five divisions through the weekend, including EMX150, EMX250, and WMX classes, and again people were grumbling about the effects the amount of racing had on the soil. Not only is maintenance time reduced, but Grand Prix riders claim the bumps and edges are different and more unsettling as a consequence of three extra divisions all drilling the terrain.”
The Motocross of Nations returns to Ernee, France in 2015, before visiting Maggiora, Italy in 2016 and then returning to the United States and Glen Helen in 2017.
