Actually Fun Gift Guide: Bel-Ray

  • Actually Fun Gift Guide: Bel-Ray

It’s a scientific fact that men don’t like to clean. According to a recent poll done by a well-regarded scientific journal, ninety-nine of 100 scientists polled concluded: “Science has finally proven what we’ve thought all along: men will not clean.” It’s science, people—deal with it. (We may or may not have made this up).

Men will offer any excuse in the book to get out of cleaning…unless we are talking about our bikes. We take pride in keeping those spotless. It’s an unwritten rule of moto that one must (must!) show up to a race with a freshly dialed bike. Again, science confirms our hypothesis (science that we just made up).

Bel-Ray has long been regarded as the “total performance lubricant manufacturer.” But now they offer a wide range of cleaning products as well. They recently released a specially blended Contact Cleaner that “penetrates, dissolves and disperses long-standing grease, grime, sludge, varnish and carbon deposits, which can impact electrical performance causing hesitation, slow starts and even stalls.” They have also released a Bike Wash that provides a “deep clean” and “lifts dirt and grime accumulated from street, track and trail riding without the need for brushing or scrubbing in most cases.” Don’t just stop at cleaning up your bike. Bel-Ray’s Bike Wash can also be used on ATVs, lawn mowers, and lawn and garden equipment. After scrubbing down the bike, apply some Silicone Detailer and Protectant Spray, which helps restore and safe-guard a variety of surfaces. Thanks Bel-Ray for helping us keep our motorcycles clean and disproving science. Just don’t make stuff for cleaning the bathroom, because we’re not touching it.
