Learning to ride a bike sucks. Thankfully, I already know how to ride one and I can just jump on this sweet Strider from Pro Taper and cruise the streets.
I just got word from my editor that in fact these are for little kids, not 6’0” tall adults such as myself. Since Christmas is really for the kids anyhow, we’ll go ahead and break this thing down for you.
The Strider is great for kids just learning to ride. Its no-pedal design eliminates kids’ worst fear: taking their feet off the ground. (Side note: Speaking from someone who was once a kid, I can attest to how scary that is. It’s akin to a backflip now. Seriously, it sucked.) The no-pedal design also helps with balance and avoiding delays typically found when kids used tricycles or training wheels. Training wheels teach bad habits! Oh, and apparently this is for kids as “young as 18 months,” not full-size adults. Ditch the training wheels and invest in a strider. It’s way cooler looking.
