Jimmy Albertson Injury Update

Jimmy Albertson suffered a knee injury on his Merge Racing/ Blanco Basura/Troy Lee Honda during the 3^rd lap of his 2^nd 450 qualifying session last night. Albertson was sitting in 18^th overall fastest time after the first session. Albertson thought he could pick up another second and possibly two during the 2^nd session, and he was only one second from placing in the top ten in first session.

After immediately starting with the fastest time in his 2^nd qualifier ahead of Regal, Mike Alessi, and Stoupe, the FMF/ Scott goggle racer unexpectedly lost his front end entering a 180 corner and caught his leg under the bike to end the evening.

Reported initially as a broken leg, the x-rays showed no broken bones, although there is damage to the left knee. Jimmy will fly back to Missouri today, and see a specialist to have the appropriate evaluation done.

Albertson is so distraught after so many great companies backed the effort to race the AMA Supercross series, especially after feeling so comfortable on his Honda. Jimmy felt with his history of being a good starter, and the close lap times in the field, he could place within the top ten.

Jimmy says thanks to all his sponsors as he will continue to support them as they supported him, and vows to be back as soon as possible.
