Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Jake Weimer and his teammate Josh Hansen were present at Phoenix, Arizona's Chase Field for Press Day two days ago, and during the riding demonstration for the press on hand, Weimer had an awkward fall when he hit a big dirt clod and sort of looped out, landing on his hip.
As it sits now, Weimer has a bit of a limp, but as of now it doesn't seem to be bothering him on the bike too much. However, the other possible Achilles heel for Weimer is the sand section. If you remember, last year he was leading the race at Phoenix and fell in the sand section, which was an S-turn last year. This year, it's straight, but Weimer fell in it in practice. When he won in Phoenix in 2008, there was no sand section.
