Welcome to the 2016 Racer X Online Actually Fun Gift Guide. We're attempting to make mundane Christmas gift shopping into something cool—starting with the fact that motocross gifts are the best gifts of all. Try RacerXBrand.com to get your shopping list going this year, then check out some other cool products.

I love working on motorcycles in my garage. Nothing beats the feeling of staring down at your freshly polished steed and knowing its as ready as you are put down the work week and go shred the day away at the track. The hours spent in the garage, be it casually hunting for loose nuts and bolts or meticulously sliding a feeler gauge between a camshaft and valve bucket, are sacred, and they’re often as mentally important to the rider as they are mechanically for the bike. That said, there was a time when slamming a broken spoke in one ear and dragging it out the other held more appeal than cleaning and re-oiling an air filter. That was a problem too because it made it too tempting to skip this ultra-important task.

Fortunately there’s the Maxima Air Filter Maintenance Combo Kit. The cleaner, of course, removes the old oil and all the grime, sand, dirt, and other enemies of the engine the filter guards against. It’s a much better system than the days of hot soapy water, which were amazingly labor intensive and didn’t work all that well anyway. When your filter is clean and dry, grab the included can of Fab-1 heavy duty spray-on air filter oil and throw on another coat of unequalled protection while still allowing the engine to greedily gulp copious amounts of clean atmosphere. The kit runs $17.95, a bargain, especially when you consider how much hard time it saves. Head to your local shop and buy this product for yourself or a fellow rider, and if they don’t have it, check out MaximaUSA.com.

Of course, air filters can only be cleaned and re-oiled so many times before they start to wear out, and when it comes time to replace that crusty old filter, or to increase your filter count so you don’t have to wash and re-oil as often, Maxima has got you covered there too. Enter the Pro Filter, Maxima’s line of premium air filters designed specifically for off-road motorcycles and the harsh conditions they operate in. The dual-stage (one stage for large, coarse particles and one for miniscule particles) polyester based foam provides top-shelf filtration while still allowing maximum air flow. Its seams are also bonded together with industrial strength resin so you know you’re not going to have any filtration malfunctions while you’re battling for 17th place at your local track. Filters come packaged in an individually sealed bag, which you can use to massage oil back into a cleaned filter, and best of all, the price is on point, ranging $17.95 to $24.95. Check out ProFilter.com to learn more.
