SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Vortex Racing, one of the world's leading manufacturers of motorcycle racing components, announced today that it has launched the Fourth Annual Vortex PINK Campaign to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. Generally, the last thing anyone thinks about when they think of breast cancer is motorcycle parts, which is why Vortex uses the unique platform on which it stands to bring awareness in unexpected ways: pink motorcycle sprockets and grips.
Annually, Vortex makes a pink version of their CAT 5 Sprocket and donates 25 percent of net retail sales of the pink sprocket to the American Cancer Society earmarked for its breast cancer programs. Last year, Vortex added its pink V3 Street Grips for street bikes to its PINK product offering and will also donate 25 percent of net retail sales of this product to the same.
"We feel that the bright pink parts really give survivors, family, and friends of those who have been touched by breast cancer a really interesting way to show their support for an organization and a cause that's close to their hearts. I don’t know anyone who hasn't been affected by this terrible disease, and we want to do our part to raise awareness within our industry," says Matt Griffin, president of Vortex.
Vortex will announce in a later press release who will be running the PINK CAT5 Sprocket during the month of October, with several running the fundraising sprocket at the 2015 Monster Energy Cup.
Anyone interested in ordering a PINK Campaign CAT 5 Sprocket may do so by calling 800-440-3559 during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST. The pink V3 Street Grips are available for purchase online at www.vortexracing.com or by phone order at the same number.
