Earlier this weekend, we reported that Ryan Villopoto had broken his tailbone in four spots during his bizarre loopout crash at last weekend's Grand Prix of Trentino. RV indicated that he would ride on Friday to see if he could race this weekend's GP of Europe in Holland, and it turns out he can't. MXGP itself and our friends at Vurb Moto have both reported that RV is out for the weekend. 

Seeing as how Villopoto had already fallen 47 points behind Clement Desalle in the GP standings, and now could fall nearly 100 points back by the end of this weekend—it's a huge blow to his championship hopes.

We don't yet have a timetable for his return to racing. Stay tuned as we learn more.
