Last week, the French team for the 2015 Motocross of Nations was announced, with Gautier Paulin (MXGP), Steven Frossard (Open), and Dylan Ferrandis (MX2) getting the spots. That leaves some serious talent on the sidelines, especially since Jordi Tixier now has a shot at the MX2 Championship. U.S. based 250F riders Marvin Musquin and Christophe Pourcel didn't get selected, either. Musquin isn't too happy about this, and he explained his side post-race at Millville.
"I wanted to mention this on TV but we didn't have time," he said. "I thought it was good for me and Pourcel to get second and third in that first moto [today]. They picked the team last week and neither me or Pourcel are on it. I mean, last year was my best year in the U.S., I got second in supercross and third outdoors and they didn’t pick me. I feel like now that we’re racing and living in the U.S., they want to pick riders that spend some time together, that race GPs together and that know each other. I think that maybe that’s why we were not picked. But I’m kind of bummed, because I don’t think they talked to Christophe and they didn’t talk to me. Last year they did talk to me a little bit but this year, nothing. I’m kind of bummed a little bit. Those three guys that they picked, they race GPs every week, and Motocross of Nations is most of the time in Europe, so they know the tracks. Maybe that’s why?"
