Payton/Short/Tickle/Beams/Rempel on DMXS Radio Tonight
May 11, 2011, 1:50pm
Pro Circuit’s Mitch Payton is universally respected in the pits and his contributions to our sport have helped advance it in many ways. The patriarch has a knack for spotting unfulfilled talent and helping that rider reach their potential as PC did again this year with Broc Tickle. We’ll get Mitch’s perspective on the entire season and his plans for the summer and beyond.
Factory KTM’s Andrew Short is a class act and a true ambassador for our sport. He has displayed his signature determination throughout the year while handling the inevitable learning curve of a new bike and team like a seasoned pro. A lot has happened since this time last year so we’ll have plenty to talk about with one of our favorite Texans.
Pro Circuit’s Broc Tickle won a championship and instantly became part of supercross legend by doing so in one of the most epic Lites’ battles we’ve ever witnessed. Broc didn’t have much time to celebrate as outdoor testing was soon waiting, but he’ll give us some time tonight after spinning some laps at Milestone.
Coach Robb Beams is our resident fitness and training guru and will be on to field some more questions tonight as the heat and humidity are once again factors during training. Robb has worked with some of the sport’s top riders and will have plenty of knowledge to share with our listeners tonight as the sport shifts to outdoors. You can sign up for Robb’s newsletter and find valuable tips at www.completeracingsolutions.com.
The single best thing about doing this show for over a decade is the awesome and amazing people we’ve met on our journey along the way. Canada’s Kevin Rempel was our first “super-fan” and has been with us from the beginning. Kevin was injured and partially paralyzed while living out his dream as an FMX rider with his own company in 2006. Most folks would have been bitter, but Kevin’s spirit was not to be denied. He worked his way back into shape and with small and significant improvements was able to follow his other love of playing hockey. He earned a spot on Team Canada’s national Sledge Hockey team where they just won a gold medal in tough international competition. TSN just nationally aired a documentary on his story and we couldn’t be more proud of our little northern brother. You can see his story and more at www.KevinRempel.com.
