According to a team statement issued this morning, Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart “suffered deep bruising to his lower back” in his heat race crash at Daytona on Saturday night.

In his 450SX heat race, Stewart cased a whoop on the very first lap, and then looped out. He was attended to by the medical crew and did not compete the remainder of the night.

The team hopes that Stewart can race this weekend in Toronto, but says it is too early to tell at this time.
