  • HITTING THE APEX Hits Theaters

Los Angeles, CA – HITTING THE APEX, the MotoGP feature film directed by Mark Neale and produced and narrated by Brad Pitt, premieres in U.S. theaters tonight. The film has generated unprecedented ticketing demand by fans, with over 6,000 tickets sold across 32 confirmed one-night events and 5 of those events selling out within 48 hours.

Thirteen of the U.S. events are completely sold out, while the other events have limited tickets remaining. Nearly 50 more fan-requested and fan-promoted events are scheduled throughout December and January.

“From the entire team at Hitting the Apex, we would like to salute the fans, media, riders, and distributors who are supporting the release of this movie,” said filmmaker Mark Neale. “For fifteen years, we've been working to bring films which do the sport justice to the die-hard fans who love it, and to a lot of other people who have discovered MotoGP and the drama, characters, and thrills it contains through these movies. Thank you for your enthusiasm and excitement.”

“We are thrilled with the success of the TheatriCast release for Hitting the Apex,” said Erik Lokkesmoe, principal at Different Drummer, a partner in TheatriCast. “Mark and his team have made an amazing film and done a tremendous job engaging the MotoGP community. Tonight will be a huge success and will carry on throughout months to come.”

HITTING THE APEX is slated to open in Canadian theaters for a one-night event on Tuesday, November 30th. Tickets are currently on sale at https://www.tugg.com/titles/hitting-the-apex and fans have until 5:00pm local time this Friday to “tip” screening events to the confirmed status.

ABOUT THE FILM

Written and directed by Mark Neale (FASTER and FASTEST) and produced and narrated by Brad Pitt, HITTING THE APEX tells the inside story of six fighters - six of the fastest motorcycle racers of all time - and of the fates that awaited them at the peak of the sport. It's the story of what is at stake for all of them: all that can be won, and all that can be lost, when you go chasing glory at over two hundred miles an hour - on a motorcycle.
