Event: Lake Elsinore Grand Prix

Where: Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park

When: November 7-8, 2015

The historical SoCal event the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix (LEGP) made famous by the movie On Any Sunday, where it shows scenes of thousands of participants and spectators lining the streets in Lake Elsinore, California, was brought to an abrupt halt in August 2015 due to the severe drought conditions in Southern California forcing the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) to limit the water supply needed to provide dust control around the 7.2-mile course around the city.

For the past six years, the Storm Events division, with the help of event promoter Podium Productions, has hosted the LEGP at the Storm Stadium in Lake Elsinore, California. The Storm Stadium tried to work every angle possible to overcome the water restrictions; unfortunately it was not logistically possible with the amount of water needed to run the original course.

When Heather Sebastian, the owner of Extreme Sports Event Coordination Company Podium Productions, received the news about the postponement of the LEGP, she immediately started looking for other options. She connected with the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park owner Chad Azevedo, and he welcomed the event to be hosted at his facility.

The City of Lake Elsinore approved the 47th Annual Lake Elsinore Grand Prix to be hosted by Podium Productions at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, on November 7-8, 2015. A custom grand prix course will be designed to provide competitive racing that will be televised on MAVTV. The LEGP offers eighty-four classes accommodating motocross, quads, UTVs, vintage, and minis. And there will be a few new races added this year: the Industry class for those that work behind the scenes to make our sport the greatest in the world, a Fire and Police class to honor our first responders, and a Kids' UTV class.

The 2015 LEGP is a great family environment and is very spectator friendly, offering grandstands, vendor row, factory pits, the iron man one-hundred-mile Harvey Mushman race, mud jump, pro riders, Saturday night mini four-stroke races under the lights, and more!

For more information on the event, check out www.lakeelsinoregp.com, or email Heather@podiumproductions.com, online registration is open until November .
