Kegums, Latvia Motocross of NationsMotocross of Nations

Press Release

The Hungarian Motocycle Sport Federation assembled the Hungarian Team for the Motocross of Nations. Under the leadership of Norbert Nagy (team manager), Kornél Nemeth, Balázs Deczi and Bence Szvoboda will represent the small East-Central European country in Kegums.

ABOUT TEAM HUNGARY

Maybe you remember Team Hungary from last year. The team that was supported by their fans. The team that had a strong media campaign. The team that only have talent, willpower and belief. Here they are again! New year, new race, new team, new hope, new purposes and a new chance to qualify to the A-final.

Kornél NÉMETH (#82 – MX1) – Nemo the captain

Cory is a living legend for his nation. He is the only Hungarian rider(!) who has ever won world championship heat (MX3, 2004 Romania)! Currently he is standing on the first place of the national championship. There was no question for the federation, who would be the best rider in MX1 class to represent Hungary. This will be the seventh time membership for him in the national team.

Déczi Balázs (#83 – MX2) – Balu the speeding star

Balu brought glory for Hungary several times. In 2009 he was racing in the same category at the MXoN in Franciacorta.

Szvoboda Bence (#84 – Open) – Bence the soaring star

Last year Bence was the most succesful Hungarian rider of the team. The seven-time Hungarian Champion has already gain victory for his nation in international races, although he is just 22.

The three riders are all the members of the same Hungarian Team. HTS KTM Team takes part in a dominant way in Hungarian motocross life with the hardest riders. They invest a lot of money, time, energy and diligent work in the team.

Taking part at the MXoN has importance not only for the riders and the team, but for the fans too. In a country where technical sports are not that popular, motocross has about 5000 fans from the population of 10 million. MXoN means a lot for the nation’s mx-lovers! This is a ray of hope for Hungary to find the new generation of the MX fans.

This year has historical significance for MXoN Team Hungary. At the first of August Mr. György Kökényesi (Honour Member of FIM Europe), the motor sports icon of Hungary left this world. Tribute to his oeuvre, the MXoN 2014 Team Hungary will do their best to continue what Köki has done for the Hungarian motor sport.
