Las Vegas, NV. - Monster Energy Cup 2011. R2N Motorsports rider Killy Rusk #60 went to the Monster Energy Cup looking for track time on his Honda Naveen Powered CRF250. Carrying a knife to a gun fight he was the only 250F to quailfy for the night show. Rusk showed he had the speed to hang with the big bikes. Knowing he was going to be under powered at the starts and he kept charging forward.
"I felt good on the bike and the track was really fun" said Rusk. "I think was just a little under horsepowered against all those 450's. It was hard because I could not take the same lines at critical spots on the track as the 450's. To make a big jump I would have to rail the outside, they could cut under and still make the jump from the inside. So it was either block, not jump or go outside for the jump and get passed. 450's could blip over jumps and I would be charging and bouncing off the rev limiter. It was a great a experience and I think it was one step in helping me get ready for the Supercross season".
Rusk and the R2N team will return for the start of the 2012 AMA Supercross Lites season on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA.
