R2R Las Vegas Weekend a Success
Scottsdale, AZ – The Road 2 Recovery Foundation took over Las Vegas this past weekend in preparations of the final round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Without the help and support of everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, or sponsored, R2R would not be able to give back to the sport in which we all love so much.
On Thursday, May 5th, the Road 2 Recovery/Monster Energy Poker Tournament presented by Feld Motor Sports had 90 players enter to compete. The last man standing and winner of the event was Matt Cray from Lucky Scooters who took home $2,500, a beautiful Rockwell Time watch, Kicker Headphones that were custom painted by AP Designs, and the coveted Supercross trophy courtesy of Feld Motorsports. Second place was Jeff Curry who was awarded $1,250 and 3rd place was Kristopher Flores who won $750. Both also took home Rockwell Time watches, custom painted Kicker Headphones and a Supercross trophy. In addition all entries were awarded other great prizes courtesy of Monster Energy, Feld Motor Sports, Rockwell Time, Kicker, DVS, Liquid Force, Pop Chips, Metal Mulisha, Skullcandy, Andy Bloch, Lucky Scooters, A’Me Grips and more. A special thank you to last year’s winner, Michael Goddard, who donated one of his incredible art pieces; and thank you to all of the players. Because of you who played, R2R was able to earn net proceeds of $16,850.
On Friday, May 6th, Road 2 Recovery hosted the Monster Energy Charity Golf Tournament at Desert Pines Golf Club. The winning team was Connexions with foursome Bob Walker, Corey Newman, Michael Anderson, and Richard Cassey. They were awarded individual Championship Trophies along with the traveling trophy which they will keep until next year when they come back to defend their title. They edged out the Dodge Motorsports team of Bryan Viger, Carey Hart, Steve Astephen, and Taylor Massey by only one shot! This is only the 2nd time the trophy has gone to another team. The foundation was able to earn net proceeds of $53,300.67. Thank you to all of the players and to all of our sponsors for making this year’s golf event a success.
