TiLUBE Racing Dallas Report

Advance, NC - TiLUBE Racing added Cody Gilmore as a replacement rider to the team for the Arlington, Texas round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series. Gilmore (#374) will be filling in for Matt Goerke on the TiLUBE Racing Team for the remainder of the season.

Matt Boni sustained a serious injury when he crashed out of his heat race in Arlington, Texas. Boni came up short on a jump in a tricky timing section and got out of synch. He ended up going over the bars and landing on his feet sustaining a compound fracture to his tibia and fibula in one of his legs. He was rushed into surgery where they inserted a rod in his leg. He is expected to have a complete recovery but it will require extensive rehabilitation.

Both riders qualified inside the top 25 with Matt Boni in the 21st spot with his lap time of 53.164 seconds and Cody Gilmore in 24th with his time of 53.502 seconds.

The two riders rode in separate heat races with Gilmore riding to a 12th place finish in heat one and Boni getting 16th after his crash in heat two. Gilmore had a good start but another rider ran into him and he had to work his way back to the 12th place finish

In the LCQ Gilmore got a bad start and was in 17th place. He put his head down and rode an incredible race finishing in 5th, unfortunately for Gilmore only the top two advanced to the main event.

"This has been a tough season for our team. Goerke was hurt twice, Rivas had an injury, and now Boni is out. It's been a real challenge to say the least. On a positive note, we just brought Cody Gilmore on the team and I am really impressed with how he rode Saturday. We have known Cody for a long time and watched him race growing up in Iowa. It's really cool to have him fill in for Goerke and finish the season out with us. We will be looking at our options for another replacement now that Boni is out."

After thirteen rounds of the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross Series, Matt Boni is in 17th place and Matt Goerke is in 29th place overall in the standings.

The TiLUBE Racing team's next race is Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. The SX races will be televised the next day on April 10rd at 12:00 pm ET on CBS, the SX Lites races will air at 6 pm ET on SPEED. A full television schedule is available at this link.
