Erin Normoyle Update

Erin Normoyle, the pit reporter for the Racer X Motocross Shows, as well as the live pit and podium reporter for the Lucas Oil AMA Motoctross Championship, was involved in a serious head-on automobile accident on Saturday evening not far from Red Bud. Normoyle and her boyfriend Scott Champion, the privateer rider from Southern California, were headed to the airport when they apparently swerved to miss an animal crossing the road, went across the center lane and hit another car head-on. Champion was relatively fine with some bumps and bruises, but Normoyle, who was driving, suffered multiple fractures to her leg, as well as chest and rib injuries. She was taken immediately to South Bend Memorial Hospital, where she has since undergone two surgeries on the leg and foot. Her injuries are not life-threatening, but they are extensive; Champion is staying with her at the hospital, and members of both of their families are now there to assist.
