Another championship comes to fruition tonight inside Seattle's Qwest Field, with the Lites West Supercross Championship wrapping up after a nine-week hiatus.
Lites West points leader
Jason Lawrence put down the fastest overall Lites laptime in practice with a 51.965, and it would've put him second out of everyone when including the 450cc guys. He leads
Ryan Dungey by six points going into tonight's event, which means a podium wins him the title, no matter what.
Dungey was second fastest in the Lites with a 52.170. If he wins tonight, he needs Lawrence to finish fourth or worse to win the title.
Brett Metcalfe was third fastest in the Lites with a 52.798. His teammate
Austin Stroupe (the winner of the last West event in Houston) was fourth fastest with a 52.917.
Broc Hepler made his return to AMA action and sat seventh fastest in practice times.
Chad Reed posted the fastest 450cc time with a 51.491.
Kevin Windham was second fastest with a 51.984, just in front of
Davi Millsaps, who had a 52.321.
Yamaha's
Josh Hill sported this freestyle-inspired Thor gear in the first practice and landed the fourth-fastest time with a 52.663.
Andrew Short was fifth fastest, with a 53.301.
