man what the heck happen to Austin Stroupe ? Thought this kid was the next best thing......
Mo back by the Nationals? Wow.
Man, can't believe I'm typing this, but kinda agree with motodog1977. What the bikes are capable of these days - every average local hack can go out on practice night and boost 100 footers. At some point, do we have to start to limiting the dangerous stuff? At the same time, dudes were getting broke off and messed up real bad 20 years ago when a 60 ft jump was considered big ... just not as often. Do we need to draw a line somewhere? Hell, I don't know...
Grant and Stroupe equal has beens!!!!!!!!!!!!
@motodog1977 Racing Supercross , or Motocross Is dangerous period , its not the jumps , not he bikes , its racing , A lot of the people you mentioned got hurt years ago , when I feel the sport had less safty equipment , Knee braces , neck braces wrist braces , etc etc . were not even considered , back then , it is safer than it has ever been , dont want to take a chance on getting hurt , Dont Ride , Remember , we lost a racer , just recently , from just tring to kickstart his bike .
What's with cervical fractures of late? Seems like that's the flavor of the month? Can it be the neck braces? Still going wear mine but it just seems odd to have numerous riders with the same injury?
All of these injuries suck, but I feel for Jared Browne with the spleen issue. I had three lacerations on mine a number of years ago; tough injury to recover from for sure.
Get well all!
Motodog is right on....I made this same statement a week ago and got spit in the face by stupid people saying this is the nature of the sport and to piss of and watch footbal or tennis if I didnt like it.
By now even the stupidest person can see this has gone too far.(only 4 races in)
I refered at how F1 had homologated and limited engine and other chassis and security issues as well as the race tracks.
It is a very high risk sport but marketing is making it deadly.
So as always follows...let the dumb remarks begin.
Ohh!! by the way F.U. CBS!!!
There is nothing wrong with having a couple big triples for entertainment and slowing down the track and making it more technical. More turns, sections not so wide open 4th gear. Every lap time is around a 1:00 give or take 5 seconds but why not make it a 1:25 or 1:30 lap time. These guys go 30 plus 2 twice!! LONGER LAP TIMES SLOW THE TRACK DOWN AND MAKES FOR BETTER RACING!!!
I totally agree with tracks being too dangerous. From the first time I raced SX to the most recent time I raced SX.. I could tell the difference! tracks are getting more n more radical every year & quite honestly privateers don't have the right equipment & do not get paid near enough money to go out there & put there life on the line! Why isn't there a such thing as a forgiving landing on these jumps? we all clear them anyway.. Wish every track was a lil more like Daytona & the monster cup! Just saying..
Too many injuries. Bummer. Grant and Stroupe have been plagued with injury their entire careers. I hate seeing the same guys on the injury list again and again.
