I just watched a cool National Anthem for the NHL Stanley Cup in Vegas on TV. Every player had their helmet off, and most aren’t even American. When I raced for 30+ years, I always took my helmet off for my first moto. But in professional MX/SX, most guys do not. I think it implies a lack of respect and can’t look good when we’re trying to get new TV viewers. Couldn’t we do something like adding two minutes after the National Anthem dedicated to riders securing their helmets?

(Thanks for the note, Stan. I believe the riders do have enough time to put their helmets on, but they just choose not to, as is their right in our country. DC)
The chainsaw engine noise on the Peacock High Point coverage was obnoxious as hell, especially when the top three in each moto were about to be interviewed. I’d like to see MX Sports and the AMA ban the chainsaw engines.

(Reese, I think we finally agree on something! They were fine years ago, but they’ve gotten much louder than they need to be, nor is it safe for fans around them without ear protection. DC)
